Overview of Final

Final Product #3 Result

For the last product, the theme is about letting go. When I was thinking about this concept, I thought of balloons floating in the air. So, I decided to make a person let go of the balloons. To start, I made the base and kept on adding slabs on the sides and on the top. Next, I made a pair of clothes, but the the whole upper body is gone because the main character had lost her identity for a bit. Then, I added a balloon on the side because I couldn't put it up in the air. To finish up, I painted using variety of colors and I made the product to look a little messy.

Next, I made symbols or representations for the story because these are vital to know. First, I created a music sign because the character loves to play the piano and is very talented at it. But, the character stopped playing as a kid when their father left their house. The next object is the turtle because this is what made the main character to fall in love. Lastly, the other symbol is a photo of the family because this is important in the story. After all of this, I painted everywhere and made it look appealing. Here are some pictures:

Final Product #2 Intro

For my second final product, I made the same vessel as before and pushed in the sides. Next, I rolled up the clay to make a handle in a coil method. I used score and slip to stick the handle to the basket.

To finish things up, I decided to paint the product because the colors would be bright. I made the human figure to be broken a little because it is supposed to show that this character is hurt inside and is lonely. I made the grass because the setting in the movie is at the beach. The beach also connects to the female character because they are both quiet and peaceful. I thought this was a good match. Pictures are posted below.

Final Product Intro #1

In making this first product of my final, I started off by making the base. Then, I worked my way up by adding slabs to make a vessel. The next thing was to make a human figure, but it didn't work because the clay kept falling down. So, I took a piece of wire and shaped it as a human figure. It helped a lot by being able to have a good balance in the vessel. After that, I put clay over the wire. I also added long and thin pieces to the vessel because it is supposed to be grass. Finish Product of Plaster

You can see that the plaster is more clean. I think it looks good, especially since this is my first time doing it. Some struggles I had was that it was hard to carve the inside and trying to get the shape I wanted. It took a long time to get to this point because I started with a rectangle shape.

Plaster Idea

I found a picture on google for the plaster project and I wanted to do something similar to it. I decided to make it look like a spiral. I thought it looked really cool. Here are some pictures of the progress:

You can see that I still need to carve the inside.

Progress of Wood

I started to cut more of the wood, so the drawings would pop out more. So far, it's going pretty well. You could see that the astronaut is being seen more clearly. Also in the beginning , it was hard for me to cut the wood, but I got a lot better. You could see that I struggled by looking the messy cut.

Start of Wood

I started by cutting out of the big areas first, so that it wouldn't take me awhile. I thought it was a good idea, because I can't go around the drawings yet since I can only go with the grain. Here are some pictures:

A Little More Progress with Newspaper

I started to tighten up the head on the back using tape. I looked up a picture on Google to help me visualize of what the head should look like. I think it looks a lot better than it was before, so I am pretty proud of it. I'm deciding who I should make. I think I might make a golf legend that had passed away last year or I might make it of myself. I'm still deciding.

Making the Human Head w/ newspaper

I started by making the base and I worked my way up. Then, I made the neck and the head. It was hard for me to get an accurate head shape for the back because it wouldn't make it round. Here are some pictures:
