A Little More Progress with Newspaper

I started to tighten up the head on the back using tape. I looked up a picture on Google to help me visualize of what the head should look like. I think it looks a lot better than it was before, so I am pretty proud of it. I'm deciding who I should make. I think I might make a golf legend that had passed away last year or I might make it of myself. I'm still deciding.

Making the Human Head w/ newspaper

I started by making the base and I worked my way up. Then, I made the neck and the head. It was hard for me to get an accurate head shape for the back because it wouldn't make it round. Here are some pictures:

More Progress on Slab/Coil

I made the whole head and it was standing really well. But, I didn't like the way the head was structured, because it didn't look like a real human head. I decided to go along with it and I added the nose. The next day, I took out my product and the head broke into pieces. So, I have to start a new one. But, I am glad that I get to start over because I want to make it better.

Progress on Combo of Slab and Coil

I really wanted to make a person's face. I started by building up the base, so that it could be strong and hold the head. It started to go really well. Then, I made the head by adding slabs. This took me awhile because I didn't have anything to help me structure the head.

More Progress on Slab

I wasn't really sure what I was going to do with my slab project. I just decided to add some henna designs on to my piece. I think it is really cool and unique. I saw a picture on pinterest and it looked like a plant. I made the structure and created a hole in the middle. At first, I was going to make it into a tree, but it didn't please me. When I drew the henna designs, it was kind of challenging because my product was small.

Coil Art Piece in Kiln

My art piece got ruined in the kiln. I was really excited to see my full product, but it got smashed on the side. But the colors I chose didn't come out what I wanted, because I was hoping there would be a variety of colors. Instead, it just came out to one color. Overall, I like how it turned out. Progress on Slab

It took me awhile to create something because I wasn't sure of what to make. Looking at my slab artist, I realized that it was kind of hard for me to make and it would take quite a long time to make. But I found this picture and it looked really cool. My slab art product was fun to make in the beginning, but after I made it, it wasn't my best art product. But, I do like how it is simple and very different from others. I just kept adding on to it, so I don't know what it is.
